Research

at Lotus Project

The Lotus Project uses an interdisciplinary approach to conduct cutting-edge research. By combining the fields of engineering, economics and social sciences we are able to optimize the solution for our current research topics. Furthermore, this new angle gives us the opportunity stretch the boundary of current programmes. Making available a whole new world of resources to the beneficiaries.

Engineering

Engineering is used for the design, development and implementation of the micro-grid solution and constitutes the foundation of our research.

The discipline of engineering encompasses a range of specialization in energy engineering, with a more specific emphasis on particular areas of applied mathematics, applied science, and types of application.

We construct engineering solutions defined by having the local communities at its core. The protection of humans and nature is a priority at every stage of the path towards self-sufficiency.

Economics

Economics permits us to develop community-based models for socio-economic development of the villages and maintenance of the installation.

The discipline of economics is concerned with the production, distribution and consumption of goods and services. It studies how individuals, businesses, governments and nations make choices on allocating resources to satisfy their wants and needs, and tries to determine how these groups should organize and coordinate efforts to achieve maximum output.

We apply economic analysis characterized by deductive processes, much like mathematical logic, where the implications of specific human activities are considered in a "means-ends" framework.

SociOLOGY

Sociology is at the core of everything component of our research structure. We develop solutions in which the local society is highly integrated into our sustainable-development approach to increase the probability of successful implementation of our research in the real-world.

The discipline of sociology is the scientific study of society, patterns of social relationships, social interaction, and culture of everyday life. It is a social science that uses various methods of empirical investigation and critical analysis to develop a body of knowledge about social order, acceptance, and change or social evolution.

We concentrate on developing an understanding within the communities of maintaining their ways while achieving higher living standards through socio-economic development.
